The entire concept of baked bean supper taking place every month sounds absolutely ridiculous but somehow, they managed to not overdo it on the silliness of the event.

The Doc cancelling the baked bean supper and then not understanding why it was such a big deal was a perfect portal of who Martin is. Obviously in the end they did have the bean supper and it caused so much more drama than could ever be imagined.

Martin going off at Glendon at the baked bean supper was great, he may not be the most loved person in the town, but it was so good to see the town back him up. Plus Glendon really deserved it.

We got see a little bit more of Martin and Louisa’s chemistry with him inviting her to the supper once it was back on. Arguably the funniest moment of the episode was Louisa falling on top of Martin and their little moment afterwards. I am looking forward to the development of their relationship.

We got to learn a little bit more about Martin’s past with his sister dying when he was 6 years old which clearly left a very big impact on him. He half opened up to Louisa but not all the way, but it was nice to see that we were getting a little bit more progress with his integration into the town.

Overall I think this was a really great second episode, the Doc is finally getting more comfortable with the town even if he wouldn’t admit it himself. The question is, how long will the peace last for?
